6-week old Mary Zwo was unfortunately neglected at birth by both of her parents and seemed destined for tragedy. Luckily kindhearted doctors, who normally treat human patients admitted her to an intensive care unit in Muenster Hospital, Germany.
Mary was found to be dehydrated and with low blood sugar levels too the ape was on the verge of hypothermia.
Fortunately, doctors managed to save the life of Mary and after her condition was stable, she was driven back to her home, where officials said she was placed in an infants car seat designed for babies.
The Wilhelma Zoological Botanical Garden are now kindly willing to donate a portion from their profits to the Gorilla and Rainforest Conservation Organisation, to help Mary's fellow Gorillas in Africa.
